It’s two days before what will surely be an awesome wedding, the weather, this New England weather, has been unpredictable at best… Saturday forecast, on one day it’s 55 and sunny, next it’s 35 and snow. I call Sarah and we chat about this, if it’s 35 and snowing, everyone will look miserable and be freezing. We come up with a solid plan and we get ready to make Saturday great. Well, Saturday gets here and the weather gets here…….. What’s that, it’s sunny out? That’s a plus, it’s not 35, that’s a plus. We can totally work this magic outside!!!
The reality is, no matter the weather, we do our best. And that’s the plan. I bring that up, only because it also touches on the toast of the groom’s father. Talking about something Bert, the groom had said once in a speech of his own. がんばりましょう “Ganbarimashou” which means… “Let’s do our best”…..
Anyway, the day is now underway, the guys are getting ready and it’s a riot, everyone is having a blast, Bert is relaxed and enjoying himself. And one of the coolest groom pieces to his boys, a sock and tie combo with a “will you be my groomsmen” on the box. Sounds so simple, but so cool… For all the guys though, their only concerns – get ready, look dapper and get out before the girls come back. And that’s pretty much how it rolls. The guys are ready and moving on before the girls are even close to coming back.
The girls walk, no, they roll in and take over the room! Now things are starting to get real, pieces being finalized, a bride elegantly getting into her gown, a mother looking so proud. Everything is rolling along perfect, a few minutes behind, that we are. The good news, no one can get married before the bride gets there so is it a big deal, not so much…
From the hotel, to the ceremony (in a spectacular church), photos around Yale’s campus real quick (real quick because the ceremony time was a little further behind), and off to the Wadsworth Mansion for the PAARRRTTYYYYY!!!!
Before the party though, photos! Photos for Sarah and Bert, if there’s one thing I would tell every couple, it’s allowing us time to create some great shots and allowing yourself the time to be relaxed, and with that time, you still get to enjoy your cocktail hour! Anyway, the day as a whole, was pretty spectacular. The staff at the Wadsworth Mansion nailed it once again. The food perfect, the staff always on point. And now, most of all, their love, finally united to bring even more brightness into their already bright lives and their families now one, together with so much strength and support for Sarah and Bert…..
Enough of all this, how about some of the days photos???
